Goalden Chyld’s Latest Visual for “Happy” Deepens Mission to Unite Chicago

Goalden Chyld’s mission to unite Chicago through real music continues with his latest performance and music video release.

The Chicago hip-hop artist and community activist performed his new single, “Happy,” and “Trenches United,” alongside the Unity Movement at The Forge to celebrate the birthday of Chicago philanthropist and culture influencer Steve Exclusive 773.

Through his art and advocacy, Chyld highlights the strength of togetherness. He’s a voice for communities that yearn for a better quality of life in divided areas.

The event also featured performances by influential rap artists King Louie, Lupe Fiasco, and Twista, known for their distinctive styles.

The message behind the visual for “Happy”

Immediately in the song, listeners hear, “Ain’t no stopping, ain’t no turning back. We got too much work to do.”

Directed and shot by Young Will, “Happy” is what hoods in the city could be: united. In the video, we see scenes of a mass group of men from different blocks marching for peace. At the forefront of solidarity, Goalden Chyld leads the pack.

Goalden Chyld and The Unity Movement

While Chicagoans boast about the architecture and food that make them happy, the voices of many residents who contribute to it often go unheard.

Before his success, Chyld grew up in a single-parent household with his four siblings. They often had to rely on government assistance and sometimes lived in shelters.

According to his bio, “G.C. was given no silver spoons and no handouts, just a unique education that taught him the truth of his people’s great history and the truth of the system we currently live in.”

Furthermore, the artist desires to be the change he wants to see, using his music to inform and inspire.
